The astronomer Johannes Kepler (1571-1630), a contemporary of Galileo Galilei, and with him one of the founders of modern natural science, during a brief visit to Regensburg died in 1630.
His last residence in the Kepler Strasse 5 has been preserved to this day. Since its conversion into a museum, it comes in faithfully reconstructed shape with historical interiors from the period of the 17th Century. The exhibits - books, letters, documents, historical instruments, models of the "three Kepler's laws" - an insight into Kepler's life and work.
